# Rehearsal checklist

## Timing table (target 17:50; the course limit is 18:00)

| Slide | Title | Who | Time | Running total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Title | Digital Radiography: An Overview | A | 0:15 | 0:15 |
| 1 | Same mistake, two outcomes | A | 0:45 | 1:00 |
| 2 | What is digital radiography? | A | 1:00 | 2:00 |
| 3 | How film works, and its S-curve | A | 1:15 | 3:15 |
| 4 | Exposure factors | B | 1:00 | 4:15 |
| 5 | Why film had to go | B | 0:45 | 5:00 |
| 6 | Inside a DR system | B | 1:00 | 6:00 |
| 7 | CR: the reusable plate | C | 1:15 | 7:15 |
| 8 | Flat panels: indirect vs direct | C | 1:15 | 8:30 |
| 9 | Straight line vs S-curve | C | 1:15 | 9:45 |
| 10 | **Activity 1**: Radiologist Eye Test | C (D reveals) | 1:00 | 10:45 |
| 11 | **Activity 2**: X-ray Blackjack (20 s rules + 3:00 game clock) | D (A clicks, B referees, C votes) | 3:20 | 14:05 |
| 12 | EI, DI and dose creep | D | 1:00 | 15:05 |
| 13 | Fluoroscopy and mammography | A | 0:50 | 15:55 |
| 14 | PACS | B | 1:00 | 16:55 |
| 15 | QA + take-home | D | 0:45 | 17:40 |
| Refs | References and AI declaration | D | 0:10 | 17:50 |

The Blackjack clocks (30 s per turn, 3:00 for the game) take the segment to about 3:20. That leaves only 10 s of slack: if you run long, cut slide 13 to 30 s and slide 5 to 30 s (saves 35 s).

## Roles at a glance

| | Speaks | Activity duty |
|---|---|---|
| **A** | Title, 1, 2, 3, 13 | Blackjack: laptop operator (clicks cards) |
| **B** | 4, 5, 6, 14 | Blackjack: referee (no-copy, turn order L R R L R L R L, dose-bar colour; a full dose bar = that team STANDS, the other keeps playing) |
| **C** | 7, 8, 9, 10 | Hosts Activity 1; collects Team Left's votes in Blackjack |
| **D** | 11, 12, 15, Refs | Hosts Activity 2; reveals answers in Activity 1 |

## Handover cues

A→B end of slide 3 · B→C end of slide 6 · C→D end of slide 10 · D→A end of slide 12 · A→B end of slide 13 · B→D end of slide 14.

## Device check (day before and 10 min before)

- [ ] Open `DR_Lab.html` **from disk** in Edge/Chrome with Wi-Fi **off**. Tabs: Hook, Warm-up, Blackjack all show images.
- [ ] Projector at 1280×720 or higher: the Blackjack screen fits without scrolling (the Rules box is collapsed).
- [ ] Keys work: Warm-up `1` `2` `R`; Blackjack `1`–`9` cards, `S` stand, `U` undo, `V` reveal, `N` new game, `L`/`R` first pick.
- [ ] Blackjack clocks: two equal boxes under the START/Ideal panels. TIME LEFT = the 3:00 game clock (hourglass flips, red dot blinks; yellow at 30 s, red at 10 s). CURRENT SIDE = LEFT (blue) or RIGHT (orange) with that team's 30 s turn countdown and a draining bar (yellow at 10 s, red at 5 s). `P` pauses both.
- [ ] Grain visible from the back of the room (Start image at ≈0.12× clearly grainy). If not, tell the class "grain is exaggerated" and zoom the browser (Ctrl +).
- [ ] PPTX opens in PowerPoint; fonts Cambria/Calibri; speaker notes present; PDF backup on a USB stick.
- [ ] Slide links: slides 10 and 11 say "Open DR_Lab.html"; keep that window ready in a second tab.
- [ ] Laptop: charger, power plan on "never sleep", notifications off, HDMI/USB-C adapter.

## Activity dry-run (do twice, with a timer)

1. **Warm-up** (1:00): C asks lowest, D reveals; C asks highest, D reveals; punchline.
2. **Blackjack** (2:30): split room, Random picks the first team, 8 turns (first team once, other team twice in a row, then alternate), Reveal, punchline. Practise the "stand" and the "undo" key. The start is random every game (0.08–0.16× of ideal), so there is no fixed best route; for a predictable rehearsal open `DR_Lab.html?tab=bj&r0=0.12` (best route ×1.5 then ×6 = 180.2; ×3 then ×3 = 178.4).
3. Check the debrief on slide 12 follows within 10 s.

Note: in Blackjack the start image is hidden until Random/a team is chosen (clock starts then); the Ideal image is visible from the start.

## Backup plan

- **HTML won't open**: slides 10 and 11 contain the four warm-up images and the start/ideal pair. Run Activity 1 from the slide; run Blackjack verbally with printed cards (×⅙ … ×6, including ×1.5) and a hand tally of dose (cost = 10 × exposure of that scan + 3; cards chain on the last scan).
- **No projector colour**: dose bar colours are also labelled by position (green/amber/red = 50% / 85%).
- **Class too small for two teams**: one team of the whole room plays against the ideal; skip "no copy".
- **Out of time**: shorten Blackjack to 3 scans each; cut slide 13 to one sentence.

## Before submitting

- [ ] Replace "A, B, C, D" and "[name]" on the title slide and in the script with real names.
- [ ] Two ⚠ items remain in the Knowledge Guide (CR resolution reasons; kVp/mAs dose trade-off). Check them in Bushberg/Bushong if you have the book, or leave them out. DI bands on slide 12 were verified (Guide §17).
- [ ] Paste the course's AI-declaration wording on the last slide if it differs.
- [ ] Vietnamese column reviewed by a native speaker for natural phrasing.
